DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation Announces Partnership with Finnovate

Innovative H.S. Personal Finance Curriculum Meets Cutting Edge Learning Management System Technology

Princeton, NJ September- DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation(DMFLF) and Finnovate.io announce their partnership for a 1-year pilot of the FitKit, High School Youth Financial Literacy Program to be delivered on Finnovate’s high technology interactive learning management platform. While FitKit Personal Finance Programs are becoming recognized as the cutting in personal finance curriculum for schools, universities and communities DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation is not stopping there. Recognizing their commitment to continuous improvement they are striving to deliver their FitKit program to schools and communities through an innovative high technology, interactive, educator and student friendly platform created by Finnovate.io

Although thirty-seven U.S. states have included financial literacy education in K-12 standards, only seventeen require a high school course to be taken, and less than ten have standardized testing to measure students’ knowledge, according to the Council for Economic Education. Though Financial Literacy standards include personal finance, few schools actually focus on building a strong knowledge base and skills related to personal finance in students. The FitKit engages students with the use of video, animation, humor, social collaboration and gaming. Unit topics include: Income and Careers, Pay, Benefits and Deductions, Taxes, Budgeting, Banking, Savings and Investments, Credit, Insurance and more.

“We are truly excited about this opportunity and appreciate the support of Finnovate.io. We spent the last year exploring high technology learning management systems across the U.S. and Canada, working with educators, school systems, consultants and experts in the field to identify the greatest attributes of a high-quality learning management system.” said Robert M. Church, executive director of DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation. “As we have public and private schools, as well as universities inquiring about the FitKit, it was extremely important that we locate a partner that was invested in and believed in our mission, highly adaptive and able to accommodate exponential growth. Finnovate.io and co-founder Alfred Yang will be tremendous partners in helping us as we continue in our efforts to close the financial literacy gap in our country and build stronger communities, one student, one classroom, and one school at a time.”

“We understand the important need for financial literacy education in our schools in both the U.S. and Canada, and the important role that financial literacy plays in making families and communities stronger. As the official education partner for the Toronto District School Board and Financial knowledge organizations we have an in-depth knowledge of what tools educators value, and experience with Financial education. Our partnership symbolizes our ongoing commitment to the work that DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation is doing.” said Alfred Yang, Co-Founder of Finnovate.io. “This is a great opportunity to work with US and Canadian communities not only by providing learning options through our custom platforms, but also to help support financially responsible decision-making practices.”
